Welcome to the DodoNetwork Discographies
Your home for the infamous and obscure
This is a the next version of the discographies. There is much work to be done yet, but it is long past time to replace the previous version with a better design. If your favorite label has not been restored yet, it will be soon.
Yes, the DodoNetwork Discographies have been completely redesigned. While the visual style is similar to the previous version, nearly everything else is completely different. The database has been rebuilt, the code has been rewritten to employ a MVC methodology, and the whole thing is just faster. Unfortunately this means that it will take some time to get all the labels back up, but once all he data has been transferred over into the new format, we think you will be pleased with the result.
There will even be some new labels added to the archives. Along with old favorites like Rock-O-Rama, we are in the process of getting a comprehensive discography for that other infamous German label, Metal Enterprises. We are also looking at other possibilities such as Link from the UK and maybe even a couple more American labels or even one from South Africa. If the label is either somehow controversial or really obscure, and as long as there is at least one vinyl release on it, there is a chance you might eventually see it listed here.
Please understand that there is no political agenda behind this site. While some of these labels have put out albums with lyrical content or visual imagery that can be considered extreme or unsavory, it is not our intention to promote these views. We look at some of these albums as cultural curiosities and we ask that you look at them in that way as well. At the same time, we will not censor any of these words or images either unless they appeared in a censored form on the album.
We would also like to invite you to visit our new commentary site, DodoNetwork Voice, which will feature articles pertaining to the music featured in these discographies, and to the music industry in general.
